Lyn’s Summer Swimsuit Guide

Hi everyone, it’s Lyn here and since we are right in the middle of summer I wanted to share some of my favorite swim suit options with you guys. Since I have to chase two kids around the pool/beach I definitely prefer a suit that has a bit more coverage than what I previously would have chosen.

For the past two summers, I have been loving the suits from Athleta. They are a bit on the pricier side, but the quality is great and the designs are very classic so you will definitely get multiple years out of them. Here are a couple of my favorites:

Aqualuxe Molded Cup Bikini $69

Aqualuxe Strappy Bottom $59

I love the Aqualuxe line from Athleta. The material feels very luxurious and holds up really well to washings. I love the detail on the back. I think it adds a really fun twist to an otherwise classic swimsuit. I also really like the side detail on the bottoms. My only complaint is that they run a little on the smaller side so I wish I had purchased the next size up.

Aqualuxe Molded Cup Tankini $89

I also own the tankini for days when I want just a bit more coverage. It still has the same cute detailing in the back. I also really love the ruching in the stomach area which is incredibly flattering and hides my leftover “baby belly.” They also offer the same exact styles in a variety of colors and patterns. At the end of the season, they will often put the seasonal items on sale so keep an eye on their website if you are looking to score a good deal!

If you are looking for some more budget friendly options, I definitely recommend checking out Target. They have a ton of affordable suits that look very similar to the way more expensive designer versions.

Merona Draped One Piece $39.99

I just purchased this one piece suit and immediately fell in love. It comes in a ton of colors but I chose the stripe since most of my other suits are black. The draping across the midsection is so flattering and really does hide any imperfections. I also like that the top comes up a little bit higher than a lot of other suits which is perfect for the days that I want a little extra sun protection.

Mossimo Mesh High Neck Halter Bikini Top $22.99

This is also a recent purchase of mine and I am obsessed with the high neck trend. It is perfect if you have children since you do not need to worry about little hands causing any indecent exposure. Even if you don’t have any kids this top is adorable and is great for actual swimming.

Merona High Waist Swim Brief $19.99

I love high waisted swim bottoms since I am still very self conscious of my lower stomach area after having two kids. These bottoms have ruching so they are even extra flattering. I love that I can pair these with a cute bikini top and still feel confident without having to wear a one piece or tankini.

Lost Ink Frill Off the Shoulder Swimsuit $54

So I just purchased this bathing suit after seeing one of my favorite fashion bloggers wearing it on Instagram. I haven’t tried it on yet so I might not even like the way it looks on but I wanted to share it with you anyway. I love the vibrant color and the ruffle off the shoulder look is so on trend right now. I love that it has the high neck so you still get plenty of coverage and you don’t have to worry about it falling down. I don’t know how practical it will be for actual swimming but I think it would be perfect for sipping Pina Coladas poolside in some tropical location.

Thank you guys for reading! I hope you enjoy your summer and relaxing in the sun in your favorite swim suit!
