Shop My Makeup Bag Favorites

Hello! And welcome back to another amazing Thursday! I wanted to share with you guys some of my go to makeup products for that perfect makeup day. I know sometimes we talk about so many different makeup products here and on our Youtube channel its hard to tell which ones are our actual faves! So lets get into my go to products for that perfect makeup day!

I always keep two foundations in constant rotation in my makeup bag, one that is full coverage and long lasting and one that is buildable coverage and a little lighter on the skin. Two of my favorites right now are the YSL All Hours Full Coverage Matte Foundation and the It Cosmetics CC+ Illuminating Cream. The YSL foundation is very matte but never looks dry and cakey on the skin. I especially like this foundation if I am going out at night or if I know I am going to be running around all day. On days when I am just relaxing or if my skin is going through a period of breakouts I always use the It Cosmetics CC+ cream. This is one of my life savers when my skin is breaking out and it has beautiful buildable coverage. In my opinion the illuminating one is a tad better then the original but they are both very good! my favorite thing about this product is how customizable it is. If I’m going for a light coverage ill use either half a pump or a whole pump, where as if I am going for more medium coverage I go for two pumps!

Next up is concealer and this is a product that is constantly changing for me. I am always on the hunt for the next best thing. But the two that have been living in my makeup bag since I bought them are the Givenchy Mister Light Instant Corrective Pen and the Colourpop No Filter Concealer. I love the Givenchy pen for under my eyes, it covers any darkness or discoloration with out creasing. It is also very illuminating on the skin which also helps conceal my dark circles. The only thing about this concealer is that I find it doesn’t really conceal spots very well. The Colourpop concealer on the other hand can be used under the eyes and on any spots on the face. It is very matte but blends out beautifully and actually looks like skin and not layers of makeup! It also drys down super quickly so just be careful when blending.

Powder is probably one of the most important things in my makeup bag. I have combination skin so I get oily in some spots and my under eyes alway need to be set! Thats why the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder is my all time favorite powder! I have been using it for years and it has never failed me. It sets my under eyes and the rest of my face beautifully with out making it look cakey or dry.

Bronzer & Blush & Highlighter.jpg

For bronzer I always go for something that is going to warm up my skin and give it a nice healthy glow. Currently I have been loving the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Radiant Bronze Light. I have had this my collection for awhile and no matter what I always go back to it. The coloring works perfectly with my skin tone and it gives the skin this really pretty radiance. It is very pigmented so make sure you use a light hand!

Peach blush is my all time favorite! I know that I can always count on peach tones to work with my coloring and give my face some healthy color. Thats why the Too Faced Papa Don’t Peach has been my favorite since they re-released it back in the spring. The color is beautiful and very buildable. This product also has some glow to it which is another reason why I love it (if you couldn’t tell I really like my skin to glow).

Last but not least in the complexion department is my go to highlighter the MAC Extra Dimension Skin Finish in Oh Darling. Its hard to find the words to explain how amazing this product is. It is a beautiful golden shade and is super buildable. It can go from a light radiance to full on glam glow all with out defining texture. It has been my go to for months now and no matter what else I try it is still my favorite.

Brows have become one of the most important things in my makeup routine. I never knew what a good defined brow could do. Its also probably the most boring category in this list. But moving on…my two favorite brow products are the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz and the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel. The brow wiz is amazingly soft and pigmented but still easy to use. I love how small the tip is to make drawing the individual hairs that much easier. The brow gel is probably the best that I have used it keeps the hairs in place with out making it feel like they are glued to your forehead.

Now on to a more exciting category eyeshadow. I usually like to keep it pretty simple when it comes to my every day look. Which is why the Dose Of Colors Baked Browns palette is perfect form me. It is full of warm toned brown shades that are perfect to run through the crease or even deepen the outer corner. The shadows are super pigmented and easy to blend. They are honestly some of the best eyeshadows I have used. When ever I want to add a little pop to my eye look I alway reach for the Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in Lala. Its a beautiful golden bronze color that looks perfect on the lid.

mascara.jpg

There has only been one mascara in my makeup bag since January which is a big surprise for me usually I hoard them. Its the Kiko Extra Sculpt Volume Mascara. This mascara works wonders for your eye lashes, it lengthens them and adds volume without getting them all clumpy. If you are looking for it all when it comes to mascara you have definitely found it with this product!

lips

Im not very experimental with my lip products so I usually stick with something that is pretty universal and easy to apply. I have been loving the Coloourpop Ultra Blotted Lip in Zuma. It is the perfect your lips but better shade and the formula is amazing. Its kind of a cross between a matte lip and a stain which I love. It has a long staying power but dosn’t dry your lips out as much as a matte liquid lip would.

settingspray

The last product in my makeup bag and the last step in my makeup routine is setting spray. There are so many in my collection at this point but the one that I keep going back to is the Milani Make It Last Setting Spray. Its super inexpensive but makes your makeup last all day! I love using it as like a refresh through out the day as well.

I hope you guys enjoyed a peek into my makeup bag faves! Let me know if any of these products are your go to’s or which products are constantly in your makeup bag!

xoxo Mel
