Hi everyone, it’s Lyn here and this is my favorite part of the month because I get to share with you all of the products that I have been absolutely obsessed with over the past few weeks. It was actually kind of difficult to put together this list because I could not stop using some of my favs from last month (aka YSL All Hours Foundation). But of course I managed to think of a few things…
I picked this up on a whim when I was shopping in Sephora spending my birthday gift cards. I had heard some good things about the formula but I wasn’t sure about the color because a lot of nudes look very peachy on me. I actually wore this out to dinner with a group of friends the same night I bought it and instantly fell in love. The formula is buttery soft on the lips and does not feel dry at all. It does not dry down completely so there is a little bit of transfer but the beautiful texture makes it worth it. I also am in love with this color. It really seems to be a true nude color that would be flattering on so many people. This has become my go to when I want a nude matte lip.
I know Mel talked about this in a favorites video a few months ago but I was a little late to the party. I finally tried this earlier this month and was completely blown away. The coverage is amazing and I find that it does not crease or look cakey as a lot of other full coverage concealers can tend to do. I found the color selection to be pretty good; the fair neutral is the perfect match for me. Also, you can’t beat the price point of $6. Even if you have to buy 2 shades to mix, you still come in way cheaper than anything at Sephora and the quality is just as good if not better.
This is actually the first product I have ever purchased from Lush and I am pretty impressed. I love the idea of in shower body moisturizers because I am so lazy about putting lotion on after I shower. As I have mentioned a million times before, my skin is really dry so this causes a lot of problems especially in the winter. This product is perfect because I lather it on in the shower, then rinse it off and it is basically like I have put lotion on except it is much easier and it doesn’t leave you with that greasy feeling that makes it impossible to put clothes on after. I also love the scent which the only way I can think of to describe is like roses at a spa. It’s heavenly. If you love the idea of an in shower body moisturizer but want something a little more budget friendly, I also highly recommend the Nivea Cocoa Butter In Shower Body Moisturizer.
It basically does the same thing except it smells like cocoa butter and is way cheaper. It is also easier to get since they have it at stores like CVS and Target.
I have had this product for awhile but I hadn’t really reached for it too much this summer. Now that we are transitioning into Fall/Winter and the weather is getting colder, this product has been a lifesaver. My favorite way to use it is underneath my makeup as almost like an extra primer in the areas where I need more hydration or where my makeup tends to get cakey. I have actually been putting this underneath my eye area and when I apply my concealer it looks flawless and does not cake up at all. Just make sure you set with a powder (I love the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder) or you will have mascara everywhere. I also put this around my nose where I am super dry and flaky. Another favorite use is on my lips! It acts as a lip primer, making my lips soft and hydrated but without the grease of a balm. This is especially helpful when using a liquid lipstick because I find it does not look as dry. It is also available in a mini size which is great for travel or if you just want to try it out.
So I normally don’t love talking about fragrance because you guys can’t smell it and I am terrible at describing scents! But, this has definitely been my go to over the last month so I felt like I had to mention it. When the weather starts getting colder, I love transitioning over to scents that are heavier and warmer. My favorite over the past like 10 years has been Chanel Coco Mademoiselle but I felt like I was ready for a change. I was very excited when I found this one because the fragrance was very similar to the Chanel but I still felt like I was branching out. The description lists bergamot and rose which are two of my favorites. I don’t actually know what bergamot is but I must like because it is in the notes of all of my favorites perfumes, including Chanel Coco Mademoiselle! If you are on the hunt for a new fragrance and have similar tastes to me, I would definitely check this one out!
Thank you for reading about my October Favs! I hope you are inspired to check some of them out!
