Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I love eating ALL the food, curling up on the couch for some football and a nap, then waking up from the nap just in time for some turkey sandwiches and leftovers. Since becoming a mom, I don’t always get the nap but it’s still important to have goals. When choosing an outfit for Thanksgiving, the most important thing for me is to be comfortable. I want to make sure I have lots of room for the expanding food belly and something that is easy to nap in if I get the chance.
Lulu Lemon Athletica Align Pants $98 For bottoms, I definitely prefer to go with leggings, as I do most days. I’ve mentioned these before but they really are the best leggings I have ever worn. They are high waisted so they keep everything in but are still super comfortable. I also love that they don’t have a lot of seams so they really are very flattering. They also just released a longer length which is great news for taller girls or normal sized girls who want the pants to cover more of their ankles. Since I am super short, the 25 inch length is perfect for me. These are on the expensive side but they are so amazing that they are totally worth it. I actually just bought my fourth pair because I wear them almost every day. I bought Mel a pair for Christmas last year and she is now totally hooked too!
Halogen Cashmere Long Drape Front Cardigan $229 on sale for $149.90 For my top, I really like the idea of layering. With the oven and stove going it can get pretty warm in the kitchen, so it’s nice to have the option to remove a layer if necessary. I am really loving open cardigans right now, especially ones that are a little bit longer for when I am wearing leggings. I recently picked this one up from Nordstrom and I am very excited to wear it. I had my eye on it awhile back but as soon as it went on sale it was completely sold out. Luckily I am a pretty determined online shopper so I kept checking the site and as soon as it restocked I bought it. Some sizes have sold out, but I would keep checking back since it seems to restock randomly. It is cashmere so it is definitely an investment piece. I am not too worried about it since it is such a classic piece, I think I will get a lot of use out of it over the next few years. Another thing to note is that it is available in petite sizes. Even though I am short, I am usually okay with regular sizes in tops but I opted for the petite small in this style so that it would not be too long on me. I am glad that I did because the fit is perfect for me.
Express V-neck London Tee $29.90 Underneath the sweater, I plan on wearing this top from Express. I actually bought mine last year but they have a very similar style again this year and it is a great basic to have in your closet. I love the super soft material and that it is a little longer so it’s perfect to wear with leggings. You can just throw this shirt on and depending on your accessories it can be casually or a little more dressed up. I have a couple of colors and I would definitely consider buying more.
Target A New Day Rebe Backless Loafer Mules $24.99 For shoes, I recently picked these up at Target. They look very similar to the Gucci pair that has been popping up all over Instagram but are a fraction of the price. They are pretty comfortable but walking around in mules does take some getting used to. I love that they are super easy to slip on and off and the fur makes them feel very cozy.
Express Heeled Booties $59 on sale for $35.94 If you are not into the mule trend or you want to feel a little more dressed up, I highly recommend these booties from Express. They have become my go to shoe when I want to feel more put together. They go with everything and they are actually very comfortable to walk around in. I cannot find anything to complain about with these shoes; definitely go out and snag a pair now!
