Hi everyone, it’s Lyn here and it’s my favorite time of the month because I get to tell you about all of the products that I have been loving over the past few weeks!
Kat Von D Lock It Blotting Powder $29 I am always very hesitant to use powder because my skin is so dry and most of them just make my skin look even drier. I was finding that my makeup was breaking up on my chin and forehead plus using powder does help bronzer and other products blend out easier. I had heard good things about this one so I decided to give it a try and I am definitely impressed! It does not look like powder on my skin at all but it does a good job of absorbing any excess oil that I may have. This is my new favorite powder.
BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Prosecco Pop $38 Of course there has to be a highlighter in my favorites every month! I actually received this in a BoxyCharm and was so excited! I love my Champagne Pop highlighter and I love to drink Prosecco so I was excited to try this one. The Becca highlighter is formula is so buttery and just blends right into the skin. I actually found this shade to be slightly less intense than the champagne pop which I actually appreciate because it is perfect for everyday wear.
YSL Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stain in 11 Rose Illicite $36 I always love trying new lip products so I was excited to try out one of the new YSL lip stains. The formula is different than a lot of other ones that I have tried. It is a very thin liquid consistency and then dries down to a matte finish. I wouldn’t say it is completely transfer proof or super long lasting but definitely more so than a standard lipstick. It also does not feel too drying on the lips which is always a plus for me. This particular color is not as nude as I was expecting it to be. It is really more of a brighter pink color, at least on me. At first I was a little hesitant but once I put it on I actually really liked it. I definitely plan on checking out some of the other shades. There is a nude shade (Color 7) that I want to try and a couple of bright pink shades that are totally out of my comfort zone but look gorgeous.
COVER FX Illuminating Setting Spray $31 This was another item in one of my BoxyCharm boxes and I was pretty happy because settings sprays are so fun to use. The only things I have really tried from the COVER FX brand are the Illuminating Drops which are magical so of course I was excited for the Illuminating Setting Spray. First of all, the mist of this spray is unreal. It is so fine that at first I couldn’t even feel it on my face. I honestly don’t even know how they managed to do it. It also gives such a beautiful subtle glow to the skin and helps my makeup blend together. I didn’t find it to be glittery at all but I also have very dry skin so anything that helps me look glowy is a must have. I’m not sure if it extends the length of my makeup, but I love the mist and the glow so much that it doesn’t even matter to me!
Chantecaille Faux Cils Longest Lash Mascara $72 I know you are probably rolling your eyes at me right now because of how absurdly expensive this mascara is. I am actually rolling my eyes at myself for buying it. My husband gave me a gift card to Saks for my birthday and I had been wanting to try it, so I went for it. I was really hoping that I wouldn’t like it so that I wouldn’t have to repurchase it, but unfortunately that was not the case. I had been in a bit of a mascara rut lately; I just didn’t think anything looked good on my lashes and I was getting frustrated. This mascara though is beautiful. It does have a very fragrant smell like a lot of other high-end brands but I didn’t mind it. It gives my lashes length and volume without looking clumpy. It does not get under my eyes at all and I actually found it to be not too difficult to remove. My Bioderma Micellar Water got it off pretty easily. The reason for the high price tag is that it is supposed to help your lashes grow. Since I don’t wear makeup every single day, I’m not sure if I will get that benefit. When this tube dries out, I may try their other mascara which is supposedly the same formula without the lash growth peptide and is almost $30 cheaper.
Thanks everyone for checking out my November favorites! I hope you are inspired to try some of them!
