January is one of my favorite times of the year, and thats mostly because my birthday happens to fall on the 28th. This year I’m turning 24 which is super crazy to me….it feels like just yesterday I was in high school. Every year for my special day my family and I plan a weekend trip into New York City. I grew up going to the city for dinner pretty frequently and it was always one of my favorite things to do! I used to love getting all dressed up to walk around the city and go to our favorite restaurants. Now that every one is older (including me) its hard to make it into the city as often as we used to so my birthday is one of the few times that we continue our dinner tradition. A few things have changed through out the years on these trips (mostly my dad is just happy he doesn’t have to go to the American Girl Doll store any more) but we have upgraded to a new tradition. Our annual trip to the 5th avenue Sephora store (insert heart eye Emoji here). If my sister, mom and I disappear for an extended period of time before dinner this is usually where you can find us.
The weeks leading up to my birthday I always try to make a small list of products that my local Sephora store doesn’t have that I want to check out. I also try to go on a small no buy so I can save up some money for this little spree. I thought this year it would be fun to share with you guys some products that are on my radar to check out!
Lilah B Glisten & Glow Skin Illuminator $60 I’m not sure if even the 5th ave store will have this brand yet but my fingers are crossed! I have heard so many good things about these products and the packaging is to die for (I’m seriously obsessed). The products are a tad on the pricer side so I have been waiting for a special occasion to purchase one. If they happen to be in store I will 100% pick something up but if not I will defiantly be putting an order in on the Lilah B sire.
Dry Bar Mr. Incredible The Ultimate Leave In Conditioner $26 this product is really intriguing to me. Its described as a leave-in mist that detangles and repairs hair before a blowout. I color treat my hair which leaves it very dry and damaged. Leaving me constantly looking for the ultimate hydrating products that wont weigh down my hair and cause buildup. Most conditioning sprays usually have a spray top which can disperse the product really unevenly. But this product is the first that I have seen with an areole spray. I love dry bar products, they always work really well with my hair so I’m defiantly interested in trying this product out (especially since I haven’t heard any thing about it yet).
Commodity Gold $105 I’ve never really been someone who felt the need to buy full size perfumes. But recently I have been really into different fragrances and finding my signature scent. My local Sephora had a few of the Commodity scents in our store in the rollerballs and as soon as I tested this I fell in love. This fragrance is described as a warm & spicy Scent with key notes of molten amber, vanilla, and creamy musk. I am really drawn to warm scents which this is, but it doesn’t feel over powering or to strong to wear year round.
YVES SAINT LAURENT Volupté Tint in Balm in 6 Touch Me Red and 1 Dream Me Nude $34 I have had these lip products on my wishlist for so long! My local Sephora has literally every YSL lip product but these and I am so disappointed. But I hope that I can finally swatch these when in NYC and figure out which color would be best. Number 1 & 6 are the ones at the top of my list right now but there are so many others that I love as well. My goal someday is to own the entire line, these lip products are so perfect!
NARS Wanted Eyeshadow Palette $59 I fell in love with the NARS Loaded palette as soon as I purchased it and have been waiting patiently for them to release another one. When this first came out I wasn’t sure about the colors but when I swatched it in store I immediately loved it. But of course my store was sold out so I’m hoping to be able to get my hands on in the 5th ave store! If you guys haven’t checked out the NARS eyeshadows I would highly recommend them! They are so so pigmented and some of my faves.
Smash Box Photo Finish Primerizer $42 this is another product that I have had my eye on for awhile now (I was just waiting to finish up some products). I love the idea of priming moisturizers especially because I’m not a huge primer person. I have heard so many great things about this product and I cant wait to get my hands on it to try it out.
So that was my list of products so far for my birthday shopping trip, this list may or may not change in the next few weeks but these are all products I’m definitely interested in trying at some point or another! Let me know what products are on your radar right now!
