Lyn’s January Favorites

Hi everyone, it’s Lyn here! It’s a little hard to believe that January is already over and we are already into February. We did a bit of traveling this month so this favorites post was a little more difficult to put together than it normally is. I typically don’t travel with a ton of new products because if something doesn’t work out than you are kind of stuck with it on your trip so I usually stick with my tried and true. I did manage to find a few new things that I am loving so here they are!

Fenty Beauty Match Stix Matte Skinstick in Amber $25

To be totally honest, I was not completely in love with this product the first couple of times that I used it. At first, I was using a brush to blend it out but once I switched to using a damp beauty sponge it worked out so much better for me. I am pretty fair so it can be difficult to find a contour shade that works and this one is a great shade for me. It also blends out easily so it makes contouring a breeze, even for someone like me who is not all that great at it. I haven’t played around too much with the concealer or the highlighter stick that came in the trio but I definitely plan on it soon!

EcoTools Blending Sponge $5.99

So, I have definitely talked about this before but I couldn’t remember if I had actually included it in a favorites post so here it is. I had gone back to using brushes to apply my foundation and concealer because sometimes it seems like it takes forever to use a sponge. However as we moved further into winter, I was not liking the way my makeup was looking on my super dry skin. I went back to using this sponge and the difference is amazing. Just using the damp sponge seems like it actually gives my skin a little bit of extra hydration. It also helps keep my makeup from looking too cakey. There are a ton of great beauty sponge options out there and I definitely have a few on my list that I want to try. Currently though the EcoTools one is my favorite because of the texture and shape. And of course the price point is amazing too!

La Mer Moisturizing Soft Cream $85-$315

Ugh this stuff is so expensive and I am so annoyed at myself for loving it, but what can you do? I had received a sample of this from Sephora awhile back and this first time I used it my mom was like, “What makeup did you use today? Your skin looks so good.” So of course I had to go and buy the full size. I actually waited until I had a coupon code and a gift card from Saks so it wasn’t as painful and I basically justified it as a holiday gift for myself. I had tried the original formula a few years back and the super thick texture did not work out as well for me but I am really loving the soft cream version. I personally find this to be worth the money, but if you are thinking of making the investment, I would try to get sample first so you can give it a test drive.

YSL Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stain in #26 $36

Now I know that I have talked about this product before but one of my complaints (actually my only complaint) was that I did not think there were enough neutral shades. Earlier this month we were visiting some friends outside of Miami and I popped into the Sephora in the Aventura Mall. I was pretty excited to see a few additional shades that I had not noticed before. I don’t know if these are actually new or if I just somehow missed them before but I am obsessed. I really wanted to try #25 but it was sold out so I went for #26 instead and I immediately fell in love. This formula is truly unique and these new shades are right up my alley. I also have #28 on my wishlist as well!

Elizabeth and James Nirvana Rose Dry Shampoo $14-$26

I picked this up in a travel size because I had run out of my Batiste while in Florida awhile back and I am so glad that I did! I only wash my hair about once a week so dry shampoo is a must have product for me. This stuff does everything that a dry shampoo should do and an added bonus is that it also makes my hair smell really good! It does leave a tiny bit of a white film but all I have to do is rub it into my hair and it goes away immediately. I am definitely planning on trying this out in the other scents as well!

Thank you so much for checking out my January favorites! I hope you guys found some new stuff that you love too!
