Well its been awhile since I’ve done one of these……My goal when I first started this series was to rediscover some old loves in my collection and maybe finish a product or two along the way. But this last month I got stuck in a makeup rut. My skin had been breaking out and didn’t look good under anything and I was just all around uninspired by a lot of the products in my collection. So I fell back into the habit of using the same things over and over again and neglecting the rest of the products that I own.
But with spring starting yesterday I decided to turn over a new leaf and rediscover my love for this series. My goal for the nest few months is to try and use up some products before buying any new ones (minus the time during the Sephora VIB sale…I just can’t help myself). And what better way to help hold me accountable for this goal then to write about it and share it will you guys. You might be saying to yourself wait a minute didn’t she just do a video on her spring project pan? And My answer to this is yes…yes I did. But I am really trying to focus on using products currently in my collection so I hope you don’t mind a few panning projects at once!
First Aid Beauty Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer is one of my favorite moisturizing primers. It smoothes out the skin while still hydrating to create the perfect base for makeup (it also has the most amazing scent). I do love this product but it is coming up on a year since I have had it. Normally with skincare and primers I try to use them up within a year just in case they have any expirations on them. There are maybe 4-5 uses left in this product so definitely doable. After I finish up this product their are a few other primers in my collection would like to use but I will definitely be repurchasing it in the future (I also have a teeny tiny sample of this product to use just in case I miss having it).
It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream in Light this product I really struggle with. When I first purchased it I really loved it but now it just doesn’t sit the best on my skin. I find that I have to mix it with either my Mac Face & Body (for lighter coverage) or my Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (for more medium to full coverage) to make it look even remotely decent on my skin. Also the shade is just not the right under tone for me, their is almost this grey cast to it. I wish they would come out with more shades in this product to be more inclusive…. But any way I’m hoping to use this is another product that I hope to use up during this month. I have maybe ten or so uses left so as long as I use it every day (and down get distracted by any other foundation) I should be able to accomplish this.
Colourpop Cosmetics Pressed Powder Bronzer I love this bronzer, it is easy to blend and pigmented all at the same time. The only thing I don’t love about this product is that there is no shade name on the packaging (Colourpop what is that about) so I have no idea what shade this is. Bronzer is one of those products that I cant help but continue to buy and try new ones, so I tend to have way to many. I kind of forgot about this product for a little while so I wanted to reintroduce it into my everyday routine.
Too Faced Love Flush Blush in I Will Always Love You is another product that used to be an all time fave of mine but got pushed to the side. I tend to skip blush all together now a days, but I am trying to get back into it. And what better way to do that then to start with an old fave. I also think I have almost hit pan on this product (which never happens for me) so I am slightly looking forward to that! Im not sure if powders have an expiration date (I sure hope not) but I have had this product for so long that I am excited to hopefully see some progress with it.
NARS Cream Eyeshadow in Mykonos has been a favorite of mine for as long as I can remember. As you can probably see in the picture it has been well loved (I even hit pan in two separate places). It is a beautiful taupe / purple shade that looks perfect all over the lid. The formula on these is very creamy and highly pigmented (which always surprised me for a cream shadow). I recently rediscovered this when I was decluttering some of my single shadows. I started using it in my every day routine again and rediscovered my love for these cream shadows from NARS. But when I went to look for them I found that the only place that still carries them is Beautylish. I hope this doesn’t mean they are being discontinued…..Anyway I don’t really have a “goal” for this product but I just wanted to motivate myself to start using it again.
Sephora Radiant Luminizing Drops in Morning Light is the last product of the bunch for this month. I have used it a few times and it is a great natural liquid highlight. It has a beautiful Champagne color to it that works really well with my skin tone. I actually prefer my liquid highlights to be more natural (I find them way easier to work with) so I was super excited when I discovered this product. But like most of the products that are outside my comfort zone in my collection it got pushed to the back of a drawer and I haven’t used it in forever. My goal for this product is to just rediscover my love for it, and if I happen to put a good dent in it as well I will be a very happy camper.
Those are all my products for this months makeup bag! Let me know if you guys take on any panning projects for the spring and what kinds of products you are including!
