Monthly Makeup Bag April 2018

A new month means a new round of makeup products being featured in my makeup bag. This month is all about rediscovering old loves. I’m trying to be better about finishing up a product before buying a new one in the same category. So far it is going really well but the Sephora spring sale has put a damper on my progress. I decided from now until June I will be going on a no buy (makeup & skincare) to help me rediscover some old favorites.

Verb Ghost Oil $16 – I used to use this hair oil a lot but got distracted by all the new and exciting things in my collection. Recently I went back to using this and my hair has looked and felt so much healthier. I am definitely going to continue to use it this month and see if it continues to work for my hair.

Thayer’s Witch Hazel $7.49 (not pictured)  – MY holy grail, all time favorite toner. This is the only toner I have found that doesn’t irritate or dry out my skin. Its ideal for sensitive skin, helps to cleanse and moisturize and is made with natural ingredients. This product has everything I could ever ask for! The reason I am featuring it this month is to hopefully use up the little I have left in this bottle (since it is coming up on a year that I have had it) and maybe test out one of the other scents that they have! I seriously love this product and will repurchase again and again!

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer $32 – This was one of those times where I got so wrapped up in the hype of a product that I bought it with out really knowing if it would work for my skin. While I did really love this when I first bought it I honestly haven’t reached for it since. I am hoping to test this out the nest few weeks and decided if I should keep it in my collection or pass it along to a friend who will love it more.

Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation $49 – For a long time now I have been transitioning away from medium to full coverage foundations. Recently my skin has been super sensitive and getting easily irritated by heavy products that just sit on top. I have been testing out some of my heavier foundations in my collection to help me weed out some ones that aren’t going to work for me any more. Through this process I have rediscovered how much I love this product. When I was first having issues with my skin I wrote off all of my medium to full coverage foundations because I just assumed they would be to heavy for me at the moment. But I tested this one out again and was pleasantly surprised at how light weight it was (and that it didn’t irritate my skin at all). For the last week or so when ever I felt the need for more coverage I was always reaching for this product. I would love to continue to test this out on my skin and pray that it keeps working for me!

Colourpop Super Shock Highlighter in Lunch Money $8 – I recently decluttered some of my highlighters and rediscovered this one in my collection. I always forget how amazing these are, they are super pigmented and give such a beautiful sheen to the skin with out being glittery. I have also been struggling with a lot of powder highlights just enhancing my texture on my cheeks so I am excited to try this out again. The formula is so unique (almost like a cream) and sits so well on top of my skin!

Stila Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow in Kitten $24 – This was something I actually received for Christmas this year. I have only used it a few times since then but every time I use it I am super impressed with the formula. It’s super pigmented and long wearing but still easy to blend on the lids. Sometimes I forget that this in my collection so I am hoping to get some better use out of it this month. I have a few of the Glitter and Glows as well but I think I prefer this formula! Plus you can’t go wrong with the iconic Kitten shade!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette $42 – This is my OG go to everyday eye palette. But since buying the NARS wanted palette I have kind of forgotten about this one. The shades are still some of my favorites, they are super wearable for an everyday look but you can also create stunning smokey looks as well. I think this palette is one of the most versatile in my collection so I am excited to rediscover my love for it this month. I have also been coveting the new Soft Glam palette so this will be a good experiment for me to see if I really need to purchase that on.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pencil $21 – For awhile this was my favorite brow pencil but recently I haven’t been enjoying it as much. I still love the formula but I can never find a good color match for my brows (they are either to ashy or to warm). Although I have found other products that I prefer because of color choices I still want to use this product up since there isn’t much left in it!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel $22 – This was the first brow gel that I ever really used. When I first started using it I really enjoyed it but now I tend to reach for my tinted brow gels more. I would love to be able to use this product up in conjunction with my ABH Brow Wiz. They are still both great brow products I have just found ones that I enjoy using more!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Let me know what makeup or beauty products you want to focus on in your collection this month!
