I have pretty sensitive skin and it feels like its getting even more sensitive with each passing day. So I decided to to share with you guys the products that help me keep my skin soothed. Now major disclaimer because everyones skin is extremely different especially skin that is sensitive to specific ingredients. But I hope that you guys find this at least some what helpful when looking for none irritating products!
Fresh Soy Face Cleanser $15-$42– The OG non stripping cleanser from Fresh. I feel like for most of my young adult life (and even now) this was the most recommend product at Sephora. When I was in high school I tried this product maybe a thousand times and it just never worked for me and my then oily/combo skin. But I have a new appreciation for this super gentle cleanser. It has a gel like consistency that helps to tone, sooth and soften the skin. It gently washes away impurities like dirt and even makeup without drying out the skin. I love that it does a wonderful job of removing makeup with out irritating the eye area or stripping the skin (which comes in handy when I forget makeup remover…which is most of the time). Its also Formulated with out parabens and sulfates which I find is really important when looking for products that are good for easily irritated skin. Some stand out ingredients include soy proteins (obvi) that contain a ton of amino acids to help support healthy skin. Rosewater to help calm and balance, cucumber extraterrestrial to help soothe and borage seed oil to nourish. Overall this cleanser is a haven for anyone struggling with easily irritated skin.
Fresh Soy Face Exfoliant $43 – Along with the soy cleanser they also have the soy exfoliant. This product isn’t as well known as the cleanser but just as good. It has all the same ingredients to help soothe and nourish the skin with the added bonus of a natural form of microdermabrasion to help resurface the skin. My sensitive skin has never been able to handle any type of exfoliant. I have tried everything from physical exfoliants to all types of chemical ones. The has been the only product that actually helps to smooth my texture with out irritating.
Origins Mega Mushroom Skin Relief Micellar Cleanser $31 – This is the newest addition to my sensitive skincare regimen. I like to use this as a morning cleanse to help remove any left over skin care or built up oil. I love to product to help prep my skin for the day ahead, whether that be makeup or a natural skin day.
Thayers Witch Hazel Toner $6.99 – This has been my go to toner for quite a while now. I love that it is super affordable and lasts for a really long time. Its moisturizing and refreshing on the skin with out being drying or making your skin feel tight. It also does a good job of keeping my pores clean and clear. This product also has one of my favorite ingredients for sensitive skin (aloe vera) to help sooth any irritation.
Darphin Intral Soothing Cream $72 – The most expensive product on this list (and I greatly apologize for this) but it really has made such a difference in my skin. It is probably the most basic sounding moisturizer on the planet but it has done wonders for me when I am mid irritation. This product is formulated with out any synthetic preservatives or colorants and is super gentle. It helps to soothe the skin while replenishing moisture barriers. Since I started using this my skin has looked more plump and hydrated and all of the discoloration and bumps (that I thought were just my skin) have significantly decreased. I am so impressed with this product (even though it has an extremely high price tag) that I knew I had to include it on this list. The whole Intral line from Darphin is specifically created for hyper sensitive skin. I have also used the cleansing milk (that smells like straight Chamomile) and I was also very impressed with it. If you have sensitively to fragrance or really anything I would highly recommend this line it has significantly changed my skin for the better.
Sephora Aloe Vera Face Masks $6 – Last but not least my favorite face masks for easily irritated skin. Aloe vera has been my new holy grail ingredient. When I was mid irritation I used one of these masks (that I had sitting in my drawer for a while, why didn’t I use it sooner) and it immediately soothed the irritation. I was blown away at how much is helped to soothe not only the bumps and blemishes but also the redness on my skin. I immediately went out and bought more after this and have been using them at least once a week. I have noticed such a difference in the texture of my skin since using these. I think out of all of these products this is probably one of the ones I would recommend most for any skin type!
I hope you guys enjoyed a peek into my favorite skincare products for sensitive skin! Let me know some of your faves in the comments!
